Language arts form the foundation for communication.

Primarily, it is the ability to construct meaning through reading, writing, visual media, and speaking. Secondly, it is the process of inquiring, reflecting, and the presentation of personal thoughts, ideas and compositions.

Reading & Phonics Objectives
  • Teach students to decode the written language easily
  • Increase ability to read with comprehension, appreciation
 
Language and Creative Writing Objectives
  • Introduce language by means of suitable literary selections for each grade
  • Educate students in traditional grammar and standard usage and mechanics
  • Train students to be comfortable with correct grammar, pronunciation, and usage in conversation and other forms of speech
  • Refine ability to write clearly and effectively
  • Give a variety of public speaking opportunities and helps
 
Spelling, Vocabulary, and Poetry Objectives
  • Ensure confidence, correct spelling
  • Increase writing, speaking, and reading vocabularies
  • Train students to be comfortable with correct grammar, pronunciation, and usage in conversation and other forms of speech
 
Penmanship Objectives
  • Provide practice for penmanship excellence
  • Increase writing, speaking, and reading vocabularies
  • Encourage students to concentrate on their writing skills
